So your sitting at a red light behind a car when you suddenly see their license plate turn into an ad for a Mcdonalds value meal. It’s one step closer to a reality in California. California will try just about anything to make up for it’s $19 billion dollar deficit. The state of California is now deciding on a bill that would allow the push for these advertising electronic license plates.

The product comp is a regular electronic metal plate that allows for a section to display whatever the highest bidder wants. So far the actual plate isn’t ready to be showcased but a San Francisco technology company called Smart Plate is working hard to get a prototype out.
