While all eyes where on the new iPhone 4 yesterday, the slightly overlooked part of the opening keynote to WWDC was Apple’s introduction to iAds. iAds is Apple’s advertising platform for the iPhone and it looks to be the new big revenue stream to their pockets.

Before Apple even launched the sucker, iAds has claimed $60 million in bookings from huge advertisers before it’s scheduled launch on July 1st. This new platform will offer advertising inside the mobile apps that will help pay some of Apple’s loyal developers.

The platform is sure to make money on the iPhone, iPod, and rumored new Apple TV overhaul. Steve Jobs showcased some of the advertisers which happened to be Nissan, Best Buy, Target, Dove, Walt Disney, and many more.

During the WWDC keynote, Jobs said “iAds will reach millions of iPhone and iPod Touch users, a highly desirable demographic for advertisers, and provide developers with a new way to earn money so they can continue developing free and low-cost applications.”

Google became the powerhouse that it is with it’s Adsense/Adwords platform. Apple will gain tons of ground with this new advertising platform that will be in front of the eyes of millions.
