Did you play Pac-Man last friday before you googled something? Well, I sure did as well millions of other visitors. There was an estimated 4.8 million hours of Pac-man played last friday when google made their main logo a playable version of the classic game to celebrate Pac-man’s 30th birthday.
It’s a common thing for Google to make it’s logo into a graphic to celebrate a certain day but it was the first time they made an actual playable game. This comes in the heat of the debate of whether Steve Jobs was right about Flash as something that doesn’t belong in the future. HTML 5 is the future and you can do as many great thing as you can do with Flash but was Google sticking it’s nose in their competitors comments.
The playable Google Pac-man was written in javascript for those of you that care. Whoever did program this thing…I take my hat off to you my friend because it was a lot of work. Happy birthday Pac-man!
